Noticed something wrong with your tires? Perhaps they just don’t seem to offer as much traction anymore when you brake? Maybe the treads aren’t as deep or there are even some bald spots? If any of this sounds familiar, it’s probably time for some new tires. But, before you start looking for a tire store near me, you need to know what kind of tires to get. Besides properly fitting your wheelbase, there are several different types of tire to think about, including:
All-Season Tires
Chances are good that you have all-season tires on your car right now. They provide fine traction and solid handling most of the year. However, the name is a bit of a misnomer.
This is because, while adequate in the winter, they aren’t the best for dealing with snow or ice, and we certainly know we can get a lot of both near Emmaus. This is why right now it could make more sense to go with the second tire type on this list:
Winter Tires
Also known as snow tires, these are ideal for driving in slippery conditions. They are designed with very deep treads, which supply excellent traction.
You’ll have great peace of mind driving around in all the white stuff when your car is outfitted with winter tires. Just make sure that once the weather warms up, that you get them switched out.
Summer Tires
This leads us to the last kind of tire to consider. Summer tires are built to provide great traction in either wet or dry conditions during warm weather and they do this with unique tread alignments. It should be noted, however, that once temperatures drop below 40 degrees, they won’t offer the same levels of traction.
