What are you going to do to stay cool this summer? Shopping for a new car like a 2019 Mazda3 or a 2019 Chevy Trax is one way to be cool, for sure. Then again, so is looking for a used Mazda3 for sale and seeking out a used Chevy Trax. With Scott Lot selling both new and pre-owned vehicles, shopping at our Allentown, PA car dealership is cool regardless of whether you want a new or previously owned automobile.

Although that’s true, it’s still a challenge to keep the cabin of a parked car cool when it’s hot and sunny outside. There are a few steps you can take to keep your cabin cooler than it would be without doing anything, however. And you can start with parking in the shade or a covered parking spot.

Even though parking under cover may seem like a no brainer, it’s not always possible. When you have no choice but to park in the sun, use a sunshade to block the sun’s rays. To get the most out of your sunshade, make sure its reflective side is pointed toward the inside of your car.

While you probably won’t want to leave your windows all the way down unless your car is parked in a very safe location, you should at least leave your windows cracked. Doing so will allow some of the hotter air to escape from the inside of your vehicle.

When it’s time to get back into your car, you can expel more hot air quickly by rolling down the window on the front passenger door and then swinging the driver’s side door back and forth several times in succession. People may laugh, but you’ll be amazed at how effective this is.
